Types of Deal

Salesshaper categorizes deals in different types, so that you can easily filter and locate them. There are four main types of deal.

Pending Deals

Pending deals are deals that are yet to reach the closure stage, and are actively accessed for your sales activities. It could be labelled with any statuses, and take the stage of either Approaching, Appointment Made, Visited or Quotation Sent.

When you are filtering pending deals with a selected period, SalesShaper will list them based on their expected-to-close dates. For example, if you filter pending deals by month of September, 2017, you will get all pending deals that are expected-to-close on September 2017. Pending deals can be closed as Done Deal or Lost Deal.

Order Received Deals

When you have received purchase order from your client or issued sales order to customer, but yet to prepare invoice for a deal due to some reasons, you can postpone invoicing to a later date. In Salesshaper, the deals that have order received but not invoiced are referred as order received deals.

Order received deals take the Done Deal stage. If they are filtered with a period, their order received date will be taken into account. This means if you filter order received deals by month of September, 2017, you will get all order received deals that have order received on September 2017.

There will be an invoice action associated to order received deals, which are created automatically by Salesshaper as a reminder to you to invoice the deal on a specific date and time.

Invoiced Deals

When you have successfully invoiced a deal, it becomes an invoiced deal.

Similar to order received deals, invoiced deals take the Done Deal stage, but their invoiced date will be taken instead when it comes to period filtering. For instance, if you filter invoiced deals by month of September, 2017, you will get all invoiced deals that are invoiced on September 2017.

Lost Deals

Lost deals are formed when you have closed lost a pending deal, or cancelled an order or invoice. When you have decided to turn a deal to a lost deal, you are required to provide the deal lost reason, which will be updated to your journal.

Lost deals are at the Lost Deal stage, and are filtered by the dates they are lost. If you want to get a list of lost deals that are lost in September 2017, just filter the list by selecting September 2017 from the period filter.

Forecast Deals

Forecast deals are deals that are included in the calculation for forecast in Plan. Deals that have reached or surpassed the Quotation Sent stage are considered as forecast deals. Thus, all deals that are of the Quotation Sent stage, order received deals and invoiced deals are included as forecast deals.
